Prologue: Envisioning a New Experience

As a Product Manager at the Apple Developer Academy @BINUS, I’ve always been passionate about merging technology with everyday experiences to create something truly transformative. In late 2023, this passion led me to embark on a journey with Audium, an innovative project aimed at revolutionizing how visitors interact with museums and galleries. Our mission was simple yet ambitious: to enhance visitor engagement by delivering personalized audio experiences without the hassle of traditional QR code scanning.

Chapter 1: Identifying the Problem

Our journey with Audium began when we noticed a common frustration among museum and gallery visitors: the cumbersome process of scanning QR codes to access audio guides. While QR codes offered a basic solution, they often interrupted the flow of the visit, leading to disengagement and reduced immersion. Visitors wanted a more seamless, intuitive way to receive content, while gallery owners and artists sought a method to enhance visitor experiences without increasing operational costs.

The Core Challenge: Visitors in museums and galleries had to manually scan QR codes to access audio content, disrupting their experience and increasing interaction costs for gallery owners. There was a clear need for a more fluid and engaging way to deliver personalized audio narratives that adapt to the visitor’s location within the space.

Chapter 2: Assembling the Team

Understanding that the success of Audium hinged on a cohesive and skilled team, I assembled a group of five talented individuals:

With clear roles and a shared mission, we adopted the Scrum framework to manage our development process. Daily standups kept us aligned, while sprint reviews and retrospectives ensured continuous improvement and adaptability. Our commitment to maintaining open and effective communication fostered a collaborative environment where each team member could thrive.
